Revamping Samsung Health UX for a More Interactive and Personalized Health and Wellness Experience
Samsung Health is Samsung's health and wellness service app and reaches over 65 million monthly active users. Nonetheless, its outdated visual design with complicated layouts still deterred many users from continuing to use it. As the UX app’s deputy leader and also the design system lead, I initiated the project to revamp the outdated Samsung Health design system. The main challenge was to break the silos between the UX, Planning, and SW teams.
To remove the politics, I invited all the key members from each department into the design process and facilitated a series of co-creation with end-users. This new process effectively broke down the politics on reprioritizing features and gave equal ownership to all the departments. The outcome was released to the ver 6.0, got much appreciation inside out of Samsung. Also, the new design process that I implemented helped Samsung Health to keep work as a whole team in the following projects.
